Valve
lapping tool for Grinding of Gate valve and wedges.
Diameter capabilities of grinding 65 – 600mm /
2 1/2”-24” valves, dependent upon model
chosen. The machine is available with air or electric
drive unit.
Mechanically Driven Technology
The LarsLap equipment is a mechanically driven system
(G and FL) with all grinding wheels moving
at the same rate of speed. This technology
produces a perfect crosshatch pattern
as the inside and outside of the seat is being ground
at the same time and as close to the same cutting
speed as possible. The speed is at least
five (5) times faster than friction driven
systems as a gear (G models) or O-ring (FL
Models) is driving each grinding wheel.
The driving plate pivots instead
of the grinding wheels, which places the pressure
in the middle of the driving plate. This results
in a perfectly flat seat – without undesirable
effects such as concave or convex seats. These results
can also be seen when grinding a seat that has become
concave or convex due to improper grinding. With
the mechanically driven technology the damaged seats
can be ground to become flat. The direction
of the motor (air or electric) on the LarsLap
equipment can be easily reversed.

Versatility
Each Complete Model STC – G and FL,
of the LarsLap equipment is provided for use on
Gate valve and wedges from 65 – 600mm.
However, any standard machine can be customized
to meet the customer’s specific range of valve
dimension. For example, one may start with a modified
machine for small valves and expand according to
your shop / plant requirements. In cases where valves
sizes are above (250kg/550lbs) 300mm (12”)
a separate scissor type lifting table is supplied
to hold and support the valve, thereby providing
rigidity and ease of height adjustment to address
safety issues. |

Features
As the equipment is mechanically driven, it is unnecessary
to have the grinding wheels centered perfectly.
The LarsLap wheels need only to cover the seat in
order to work correctly. Electric and Air Driven
motors are capable of various grinding speeds for
close control of the finished surface. Air motor
comes as standard. Electric available upon request.
Grind both seats in the same setting.
The STC design enable grinding of both seats in
a gate valve in the same mounting -, saving time
and increasing safety as there is no need to rotate
the valve. |
