LarsLap USA – Machine Updates

As a result of customer feed back LarsLap has developed new equipment to better service each individual customer’s needs.

Model DF:
for Globe, Safety and Control Valves 2 ½” – 16” with option as small as ¼”
LarsLap Model DF, formerly known as Model D1 incorporates LarsLap technology from both the D1 and FLH models. Model DF can be easily used to grind/lap angle and/or flat seated globe, safety and control valves. This is achieved by utilizing LarsLap’s unique centering system that has been improved through the valuable feedback from our customers. Model DF now uses a three (3) jaw chuck mounting system that provides ease of set up on both small and large valves. Model DF can be used as a handheld, FLH, (see photo) or mountable (D1) tool. This specialized design makes it possible to use different drive units (pneumatic or electric) on the same machine. |
Model G:
for Gate, Gate Valve Wedges, Globe, Check, Swing Check, Safety and Control Valves 6” – 52”
LarsLap Model G will now be available with a Digital Display Indicator as an accessory to measure torque and speed of the machine during lapping. This indicator will allow the user to have a better handle on how much seat material has been removed and how much pressure is being applied to the seat. This accessory will also assist with scheduling recommended maintenance. Current users may add this accessory to previously purchased equipment. New customers will be offered this option with any Model G. |

Preventive Maintenance and Repair Service of LarsLap Equipment |
In order to increase the life of your LarsLap equipment, the Dupill Group now has the capability to provide preventive maintenance, repair and service for your LarsLap equipment. Like any equipment, LarsLap tools require scheduled maintenance to ensure that your machines will operate as expected when needed. We recommend a tune up either before or after an outage or at a minimum based upon the maintenance schedule described in your manual. Preventive maintenance will extend the usable life of your investment. Additionally, the Dupill Group is available to inventory your equipment on site or in our shop. Please call our office for additional information or to schedule a service job. |

LarsLap Abrasives / Grinding Paper Improvements |
Customer feedback regarding the performance of abrasives provided by LarsLap has been positive; however you have indicated that it was difficult to remove the used abrasive paper from the grinding heads. To better service our customers, LarsLap has developed a superior type of glue that adheres during lapping, but is easily removed from the grinding heads. In one test, LarsLap used one set of papers during 4 hours of grinding, left the papers on over the weekend and removed them Monday morning with no problem. Although these conditions are more severe than normal conditions, it does show that the abrasives stick when you need them to stick, but won’t give you problems during removal. |
