(Day 3)  
 

Hands On Valve Maintenance
The following Enabling Learning Objectives (ELO) of this session is to provide instruction for Hands-on training drills with a minimum of 4 work stations to include all metal seated valve types, (Exceptions, ball and butterfly valve) so that questions and specific techniques pertaining to the objectives can be addressed.

  • Efficiently operate the grinding/lapping machines in accordance with manufactures operation manual(s)for manufacture Model(s):
    • LarsLap
    • EFCO
    • Dexter
    • Climax
    • Uni Slip
  • Review the purpose, parameters, and rules of the drills as well as stress the importance that drills are not meant to be rushed through.
  • Mechanic attendees conduct numerous set up and lapping Drills at Four (4) work stations, Teams of Two (2).
  • All Four (4) teams of Two (2) are required to perform at a minimum Two (2) work station Cycles.
  • Timed Drills:
    • STATION A: 10” Swing Check Valv
    • STATION B: 8” Gate Dis
    • STATION C: 6” Gate Valv
    • STATION D: 2” Globe Angle seat Valve
  • A “bluing” inspection demonstration is performed by each Team
  • At conclusion of drills a debrief session takes place with Suggestions, Tips, and Feedback from Timed Drills. Any further hands on review will be addressed at this point in the shop.

Course completion will be attained by discussion, performance TPE evaluation with a signed TPE document by the vendor instructor and Plant training department representative in the completion of the training objective.

Classes are presented in Charlotte, NC, at our Training Facility located west of the city near Exit 27 on I-85 South. There are Hotels nearby. The Dupill Group will assist with room arrangements.

Classes typically run Tuesday through Friday. Registrations should be received 30 days prior to the start of class.

TUITION: Tuition covers all directly related seminar expenses as well as lunch. Travel, lodging and other meal expenses are the responsibility of each registrant and are not included in tuition.

PAYMENT: We accept Visa, Master Card and American Express or company check. Company check made payable to Dupill Group • Company billing - please mail, fax, phone, or email a purchase order. All payment information must be received by The Dupill Group in advance.

CONFIRMATION: Please be sure to have confirmation of your enrollment before making travel arrangements. If you have not received a confirmation letter prior to the start of the seminar, please call The Dupill Group to confirm your enrollment.

CANCELLATION: Cancellation notice must be received 30 days prior to start of seminar to ensure a full refund. Cancellations received after this date will be subject to a $100 service charge. Substitution of attendees may be made at any time. The Dupill Group reserves the right to cancel the seminar if there are not enough students to justify holding the class. We need to have a minimum of four (4) participants. The Dupill Group reserves the right to cancel seminars at its discretion.

TAX DEDUCTIONS: U.S. Treasury Regulation 1.625 permits an income tax deduction for educational expenses (including registration fees, travel, meals, and lodging) undertaken to maintain and improve professional skills. Please determine how the regulation fits your situation.
